Maybelline Color Show Glitter Mania Review - Pink Champagne

I’ve always been a fan of glitter nail paints but they’re almost always way too sheer and no brand ever seems to get the consistency right. They’re too much work since they need a base color, about 2 coats of the glitter itself and then a topcoat to hold those huge chunky pieces of glitter on the nail and not let them peel off. Maybelline recently launched their Glitter Mania range as an addition to the pre-existing Color Show nail paints. With the amazing combination of Glitter and my favorite drugstore makeup brand, there was nothing that could stop me from trying them out!

Pigmentation, Consistency: Although I love Maybelline, I wasn’t expecting much from a glitter nail paint and I was wrong. The glitter is so well concentrated that even one coat would be enough. However, in the picture here, I’ve used 2 coats but the consistency is remarkably opaque even for 2 coats. I see this nail paint as a revolution in the world of glitter nail paints because such a finish was only possible with a hundred coats or a perfect professionally done manicure....

I have written one more review for Real Beauty Spot and I hope you enjoy it. I had received many requests on Twitter to Review these and I was happy to oblige since I loved them so much. Let me know what you think and if you would be trying them too in the comments below.

Pretty Pink Tips - Nail Update!

A nail update after so long! This time it's not just glitter on a plain base coat. I decided to try an all pink french tip manicure. Focus on the word "try". I'm terrible at making those straight edges so I did the best I could.I wasn't conscious of this before because I thought my nails looked adorable and I was happy with them. Then, a few days ago, Maybelline regrammed this picture of my nails and someone left a mean comment criticizing it. This was the first time I came across a mean comment since I started blogging and instagramming so I was taken aback and started criticizing my own pictures and nails. That was until I realized that there are people  it so that actually like what I write, click, post, etc and they understand that I'm not a professional nail artist or anything. I just do it because I like to paint my nails and share it with you guys on my blog so I shouldn't let mean comments affect me. Basically, I just wanted to say thank you to all those of you that follow this blog and my instagram account and continue to read all the randomness that pours out of my brain onto the posts. Thank you for liking it and giving me the courage to post more on this blog and ignoring that one mean comment.
Finally, let's talk about the nails
I loved this look so much! I kept redoing it every time it chipped so that I could wear it for longer. It's supposed to be quite simple actually but it took me a while to do the tips because I kept messing up (nail art newbie).
The base coat is Maybelline's Colorama Cremoso in Nude. It looks quite different than in the bottle but it's a pretty pinkish nude. The tips are Cairuo Fragranced Nail Paint in Rose. It's a deep pink with a nice fragrance. I like some fragranced nail polishes and this one is nice at first but gets quite overwhelming after about 10 mins. I bear it for the color though.

So do you like it? It took me a while to write this nail update but I instagram pictures of my nails as soon as I've done them so you can see them all on Instagram. Please find me and follow me on instagram at tanayadream. Also tell me what you think of this nail look, fragranced nail polishes and these colors in the comments below :)

Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush Review

This review is long overdue. I don't know why I spent time on other posts when this post should have been my priority. I got this blush over the winter while I was in India. Maybelline always releases some wonderful products in India and then I have to wait for months before I can visit India and try them out. When I first heard about these blushes I found out that it was released in 3 shades only- Fresh Coral, Peachy Sweetie and Creamy Cinnamon- and I was so sure that I would be buying Fresh Coral and Peachy Sweetie. However, when I swatched them they just looked so similar to all my other pinky-peach blushes (which I love but I needed something different!) and I ended up falling in love with Creamy Cinnamon.
Creamy Cinnamon is the most wearable and natural shade I have ever found...and I mean EVER! It's a very glowy peachy-brown but does not look brown on the skin. This shade is perfect for every skin-tone out in the world. Considering these Cheeky Glow blushes are the most affordable blushes I've ever come across I was shocked at how amazing they are. The packaging isn't very high-end-like but I prefer it like this. They just look so cute and tiny and they're perfect to travel with. I always carry Creamy Cinnamon when I travel because it's a versatile shade and it barely takes up any space in my makeup bag. The formulation, pigmentation and quality is just like a high-end blush if not better. These are really creamy and soft and don't look chalky at all. In fact, they blend in so well on the cheeks! I can't find anything wrong with these. I've read some reviews that criticize Maybelline for not including a tiny brush in the packaging like most brands do but I don't think anyone really uses those and they're a waste of space and materials.

Final Verdict: This has been my favorite blush for months now and it's obsessive. It's inexpensive, great quality and beautiful. I cannot recommend it enough!

Bright Winters - Outfit post

It's been quite a while since I did an outfit post so when I came across a contest on polyvore, I decided to make a set for it even though the contest was already closed. The guidelines just seemed so interesting that I had to try and create an outfit for it. The contest required a perfect winter outfit but needs the picture of a city in it. I chose the picture with pretty snowflakes and fairy lights because it looks so festive. Bright colors are unexpected in a winter collection but they're beautiful so I went for a Fuchsia coat with fuchsia lips to go with it. The wonderful blue Oscar de la Renta highlights the fuchsia but still looks lovely with the snow and lights. I would love to wear this outfit to a lovely christmas dinner with family or friends. What do you think of this outfit? You can follow me on Polyvore to see other collections, sets and outfits.

My Christmas Nails - Maybelline ColorShow

It's finally christmas! (Did you notice the christmas count down on my sidebar? I'll miss that little thing after today. ) I absolutely love christmas and mostly because everything around me is bright, sparkly and festive. There are fairy lights and christmas trees everywhere. I always change my nail color and paint them for christmas day so that there aren't any chips. However, while I was at a Maybelline counter recently getting a few backups for staple products and such, I saw the perfect christmas color! I was about to buy a green shade (i don't remember the name of the shade) as the first shade to try from Maybelline's new ColorShow range in India. I'm glad I waited and found this beautiful shade instead. It's   a lovely red with silver sparkles. The sparkles aren't chunky and tacky, nor are they tiny like shimmer...they're just perfect. The cute name 'Velvet Wine' makes me like it even more.

Today I jumped out of bed bright and early to go look at my christmas presents when I saw my cat had found what I got for him. Isn't he just adorable?

I will have another post soon with my complete christmas look. I hope you like this post and let me know what you think of Velvet Wine. Have you tried any of the shades of the Colorshow range in India yet?
