The Liebster Award!

This is an Award/Tag that I’ve had my eye on for a while so imagine how thrilled I was when the lovely Amber from Lipstick and Loafers nominated me. The rules are pretty simple: Answer the questions the person that nominated you has asked. Think of 10 new questions that you would like your nominees to answer. Nominate other bloggers! For me, the answers to questions are never simple so tags challenge me to try and condense my answers while getting my point across. It’s a great exercise if you’re like me and you overthink every question. Now onwards with the questions!

When did you start blogging and why?
I started blogging in June 2013. Not that long ago. I came across a few beauty blogs a few months or about a year before I started my blog. I realized that I loved reading them and they helped me choose wisely about which products to buy. I also loved the fact that blogging makes you feel like you have a million friends across the world (some day I hope to reach that 1million) and whether you meet them or not they’re there to support you and your efforts. It took me a while to start the blog because I was afraid that I wouldn’t be unique but some lovely people in my life read what I had written and encouraged me to start. Now I feel proud of calling myself a blogger and I feel like it comes to me so naturally.

What is the one beauty or hair product you would re-purchase?
The Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer. If I run out of this product I would run to the nearest store that had it. It has the power to change your look.

What can you not leave the house without every day?
As much as I want to say Mascara, I think it’s my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

What is your biggest ambition in life/the thing you would most like to do before you die?
I just want to have an impact on the world. I guess my ambition is to be someone influential.

Your most recent celebrity crush?
Can I choose 2? I’m going to choose 2. Benedict Cumberbatch and Gabriel Macht

What is your favourite book/film and why?
I think this is a really difficult question because I’m always looking for great new books to read and choosing a favorite would make me narrow in my hunt for the next amazing book. However, the 2 series that I have loved and I will always remember are Harry Potter and A Series Of Unfortunate Events.

Who is your fashion/beauty icon?
I think the show Gossip Girl has made the biggest statement in the Fashion and Beauty realm that I have seen so far. Unfortunately it has ended. Anyone else feeling sad about having to let go of the drama?

If you had the opportunity to go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Everywhere!

Your favourite blogs/YouTubers?
Fleurdeforce (Blogger and Youtuber), Tanya Burr (Blogger and Youtuber), Grace Helbig aka DailyGrace (Youtuber), Cynthia (Blogger)

What beauty or clothes stores to you visit the most?
I do love Vero Moda, Forever 21 and Zara. In terms or beauty stores I don’t have any particular stores in mind. Just any place that I can get my dose of Fashion, Beauty and Retail therapy would do! J

My questions:
What effect has Blogging and Makeup had on your life?
Do you have a favorite product in your collection?
Which one!?
Who inspires your fashion and beauty choices?
What’s your favorite blush?
Do you have pets? If yes, tell us more about them!
Your favorite blogs/Youtubers? (I know I copied this question but I’m really interested in what your answer would be)
Any awesome trick/method that you use while applying makeup that you think is special and unique to you?
Which is the one Skincare product that you can’t imagine living without?
A product ( Fashion or beauty related) that you’ve been eyeing recently and will most probably buy. Iinclude a picture).

I nominate:

Tell me what you think of my answers/questions or this post in general. Leave me a link of your Liebster award post in the comments below. Have a great day J

This or That Beauty Tag : Part 2

Finally, after soooo long, Here’s the second installment of the This or That Beauty Tag. Its been so long since I did the first part but if you haven’t read it yet you can click here.

1) Lotion or Body Butter?
I have never had a Body Butter but I would love to. I’ve just always picked a bottle of body lotion or body puree over a body butter in the same scent. It could be because I lived in a very humid place so never needed much moisture but I can see my skin feeling the need for Body Butter now.

2) Perfume or Body Spray?
Both! It would be inhuman to ask a girl to choose.

3) Body Wash or Soap?
Body Wash. Definitely. You just can’t get the same amazing feeling of bubbles and softness with a Soap. And I love loofahs and loofahs can’t be used with a Soap.

4) Lush or other bath company?
I really wouldn’t mind any company as long as the product smells wonderful and works well with my skin. I do love LUSH but I love other companies too.

5) Tan or no Tan?
No Tan. Never had a fake Tan. Never desired to sit on the beach and burn to a crisp. Hahaha.

6)    Curly or Straight?
Curly. As a little kid I loved straight hair and straightened mine every opportunity I had but as I grew up I kind of just switched my love to Curly/wavy hair. I realized that I have beautiful natural waves and wouldn’t want to ruin them with a straightening iron anymore.

7)    Ponytail or Bun?
As much as I love buns I don’t think they flatter my face shape so ponytails it is.

8)    Hair Grips (bobby pins) or Butterfly Clips?
Bobby pins are way too cute and convenient.

9)    Hairspray or Gel?
None. But I guess if I really needed something it would be Hairspray.

10)                   Long or Short?
How about Medium?

11)                   Blonde or Brunette?
They’re both lovely but I’m partial to Red Hair.

12)                   Side Swept bangs or Full?
Either. Whatever looks good.

13)                   Up or Down?
        Down

14)                   Jeans or sweatpants?
        Jeans.

15)                   Long Sleeve or short?
      Short

16)                   Dresses or Skirts?
Dresses. I do like skirts but I don’t like the fuss of pairing them with a good top. Dresses are easy, classy, feminine and beautiful.

17)                   Stripes or Plaid/Tartan?
Depends on the color.

18)                   Flip Flops or Sandals?
I’ve lived 99% of my life in Flip Flops and Flats. But now I’m making an effort to start using more sandals. My answer shall be sandals. (I still love flip flops and their comfort and bright colors).

19)                   Necklaces or Bracelets?
Necklaces. No doubt about it.

10 ) Heels or Flats?
Heels. They make me cry and they make my feet hurt so much but I just can’t resist them.

21)                   Jackets or Hoodies?
Jackets because they’re most trendy. Besides, I have way too many Hoodies so it’s time to go Jacket-Shopping.

22)                   Rain or Shine?
       Rain

23)                   Summer or Winter?
Although I love summer trends and makeup and everything…I hate summer weather. So I choose Winter.

24)                   Fall/Autumn or Spring?
      Both
25)                   Favourite Ice Cream Flavour?
Tender Coconut/Lychee/Chocolate chip

I hope you liked this Tag that took so long to be posted. Leave me links of your posts where you've done this tag in the comments.

Something bright Something fun

This is a completely random post but believe it or not, I had never visited the Polyvore site before. One of the most fun things to do on polyvore is putting together outfits...and ofcourse making oneself feel sad about not being able to buy every single thing in that outfit one put together. Hahaha. So this is the outfit I put together today. I was in the mood for something colorful and yet warm (considering I've been freezing all day with this sudden drop in temperature.

I quite liked doing this and I think I might make putting together an outfit and posting it here a weekend ritual. If you're in the need for some stress-relief after a long and tiring weekend I highly recommend doing this. Let me know if you liked this outfit. It might also be a fun idea to find similar pieces in a store near you and recreating this look. I also loved a wonderful cat-inspired cap there and its pretty cheap but the shipping charges are crazy so I'm going to dream of the cap I could never have. Hope you have a great weekend!

Easy Fall EOTD : Fall In Love With Fall

This is probably the easiest Fall eye makeup look you'll come across. do you know why I'm so sure? Because I know that I'm lazy when it comes to putting on makeup early in the morning while I'm in a hurry. I used my Revlon Illuminance Creme Eyeshadow Quad ( Review ) for this look and I didn't even use all the colors. You can use any other creme eyeshadow or powder eyeshadow that's the same color. I just used this one because I love how easy and fast cream eyeshadows can be.

1. Start with a clean eyelid that has been moisturized and prep with an eye primer.

2. I started by using the lightest color in the palette which is a shimmery pinkish-silver. It is a highlight color but I used it all over the lid. You could use any silver shade with pink tones.

3. I was never a huge fan of the darkest color of this palette but recently it's been such a convenience because it can take a look from zero to glam in seconds! I used this dark purpley-brown shade on the outer corners and crease.and blended it into the first light color.

4. You could end the look at step 3 but if you want to go for a more dramatic look layer on the dark color. Then I added a bit of NARS Albatross( Review coming soon!) to highlight the middle portion of the lid. This step just makes the look more dramatic and sultry like a purpley-brown smoky eye (if that exists).

5. Finish up by blending well, curling the lashes and some nice mascara. I've used the Revlon Lash Potion Mascara ( Review ).

Add some blush and a tiny bit of bronzer(optional). I didn't used any lipstick and just used a lip balm from the body shop because I didn't want to distract from the eye look.

PS: Do you notice how you can only see half my face in all the pictures? I put makeup on only one half of my face because I thought of doing a before and after shot. The idea got messed up! Hahaha So I apologize for all the awkward half-face pictures.

I hope you liked this look and if you try it, send me a picture on Twitter or Facebook. Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' and gfc if you want to read more of these posts.

From the runway to your nails!

There are quite a few interesting things that I’ve come across online recently and I want to share all of them with you but I can’t do that all in one post. So this is one of the most beautiful, inspiring, creative and artsy thing I’ve come across yet (You can also find it on allure.com). How many of you love nail paint? Most of you I hope…because I love it! I love fusing around and trying different combinations of shades and trying to do some nail art with glitters. However, I’m not nearly as talented as the people that have done the nail art in the pictures that follow. They’ve incorporated styles seen on the runway into their nail art! I’ve added some of my own suggestions for alternatives that you can use if things are too difficult to find or expensive.

Inspiration: Balmain Booties.
What you need: Black nail paint, top coat, some tiny beads, studs.
My alternatives and tips: you can take the tiny beads from a caviar nail set or just buy some separately from a craft store. Use tiny rhinestones or those pretty stickers that look like rhinestones instead of studs.
Artist: Ginny and Donne Geer from heynicenails.com
Inspiration: Dolce & Gabanna
What you need: White nail paint for base, 3D nail art flowers.
My alternatives: You can use little cutouts of flowers and fix them in place with a topcoat but they won’t give you a 3D effect. Great way to tone down the nail art trend for the workplace. 3D flowers may be hard to find since the artist got them from Japan.
Artist: Julie Kandalec, nail artist

Inspiration: Macqueen Clutch
What you need: black nail paint, white nail paint, and Swarovski crystals
My alternatives: You can just cute bits of delicate real lace and glue it on with a transparent topcoat. It’s easier than drawing on everything. Use the stickers that look like rhinestones instead of Swarovski crystals because Swarovski crystals are expensive!
Artist: Maki Sakamoto

Inspiration: Peter Pilotto
What you need: Black, neon green, light blue and a dark blue polish.
My alternatives: This one may take a lot of precision and patience to draw by hand like the artist did. I suggest using those strips you get in French manicure kits to make the process faster.
Artist: Fleury Rose

Inspiration: Miu Miu Bag
What you need: Black, Red, Light pink, Fuchsia and white polish.
My alternatives: You can use the sponge to create the effect on that bottom bit and just go crazy and creative with the rest.
Artist: Sophie Harris-Greenslade from theillustratednail.com

Inspiration: Prada
What you need: Black, Red, Purple and Orange nail paint
My alternatives: None. This style looks simple but is tricky to do!
Artist: Sophy Robson, Nail Artist

Inspiration: Balenciaga
What you need: Deep red nail paint, Black nail paint and a champagne color
My alternatives: I just feel like using either a gold nail color or golden sparkles instead of the plain champagne can amp up this look
Artist: Taryn Multack

Inspiration: Marni for H&M
What you need: Red, Black/deep blue and yellow polish, Dotting tool
My alternatives: if you don’t have a dotting tool try using one of those tiny papertacks.
Artist: Taryn Multack

That's it for now. If you like this post I would be happy to find more looks like these. Also, if you want me to do any particular look on my own with a tutorial be sure to let me know. If you do any of these nail looks leave me a link in the comments and just tell me if you like these because reading your comments brightens up my day.
